Trauma Research, a new international, peer-reviewed journal, was officially launched on March 6, 2026. It was jointly established by Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) and Higher Education Press. The journal aims to serve as a global platform for promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and supporting the translational innovation in trauma medicine.
Trauma remains a major global public health concern. It is the fifth leading cause of death worldwide and the primary cause among people aged 0 to 45. Its complexity requires coordinated efforts across clinical care, basic science, public health, and bioengineering. Trauma Research is dedicated to bring together researchers, healthcare providers, educators, and worldwide to facilitate exchange and collaboration across disciplines.
Led by Professor Jiang Baoguo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as editor-in-chief, together with internationally renowned trauma surgeon, Professor Demetrios Demetriades as co-editor, the journal brings together a distinguished editorial board from across the global trauma community.
Trauma Research focuses on cutting-edge research and clinical translation. It welcomes a wide-range of articles including original studies, reviews, case reports, and expert consensus across fields such trauma systems, critical care, rehabilitation, epidemiology, and emerging technologies like biomaterials and artificial intelligence.
“We sincerely invite researchers worldwide to join us in building a dynamic interdisciplinary academic community and to take trauma research to new heights of excellence,” said Academician Jiang.
Designed for international researchers, healthcare institutions, and industry partners seeking collaboration, the journal aims to bridge the gap between research and practice, and to accelerate innovation in trauma care worldwide.
