International Patient FAQ – Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH)
1. Can I have a telemedicine consultation?
Currently, PKUPH cannot provide telemedicine services for international patients. Options include:
· Sending a trusted representative in Beijing with your medical records for an in-person expert consultation.
· Traveling to China to visit our hospital directly.
2. What type of visa do I need?
We recommend a tourist visa for your preliminary assessment. If a longer treatment period is needed after the assessment, our doctors can provide a supporting visa letter upon request.
3. How do I book an expert appointment?
Email the International Medical Services Department at pkuphims@163.com with your preferred date and time. We will schedule your consultation accordingly.
4. What are the medical fees?
· Expert consultation: 1,000 – 4,000 RMB per visit.
· Inpatient ward (if needed): 1,000 – 1,500 RMB per day.
Additional examination or treatment costs will be discussed with your physician.
5. Does the hospital provide accommodation or transport?
No. Please arrange your own travel and lodging.

6. When can I schedule my consultation?
After confirming your arrival in Beijing, contact us via email to finalize your appointment.
7. Can foreign patients join clinical trials?
No. Domestic drug clinical trials in China do not enroll international patients.

Consultation Registration Methods:
1. On-Site Registration:
Please bring your Permanent Residence Certificate/Passport/other valid ID cards to the Reception on the 3rd Floor of the VIP Service/ International Medical Services Building to register for a consultation.
2. Registration By Your Commercial Insurance Provider:
You can register for a consultation through your commercial insurance provider, who will inform you of the specific consultation time and relevant instructions. Please bring your valid ID card and direct billing card when having the consultation.
3. Registration By Telephone:
Please call the Department of International Medical Services at +86-10-8832-4190 (weekdays: 8:00-11:30 and 13:00-16:30) to register for a consultation.
Reminder:
1. For first-time visitors to Peking University People's Hospital, please follow the Peking University People’s Hospital Service Account on WeChat (北京大学人民医院服务号). Please complete your personal information and register for an electronic Medical Card with real-name verification in our service account. The following screenshots will show every step.
2. You can also bring your valid ID card to the Reception on the 3rd Floor of the VIP Service/ International Medical Services Building to register for the Medical Card.
3. For your medical consultation, please go to the Reception on the 3rd Floor of the VIP Service/ International Medical Services Building and the nurse will guide you to the appropriate consultation room.

①现场预约:持身份证至国际医疗部三层分诊台进行预约。
②商保预约:可通过保险公司进行预约，保险公司电话通知患者具体的就诊时间及相关注意事项(患者携带有效身份证件、直结卡就诊)。
③电话预约:请拨打北京大学人民医院国际医疗部电话+86-10-8832-4190(工作日8:00-11:30、13:00-16:30)进行预约。
温馨提示:
首次在国际医疗部就诊患者请微信搜索“北京大学人民医院服务号”并关注 → 在服务号内完善个人信息实名注册电子就医码（或持身份证、护照等其他有效证件来院注册） → 到国际医疗部三层分诊台联系护士 → 由护士引导至相应诊室就诊。
注：服务号内注册电子就医码流程如上图示。
