The 3rd Grand Canal Forum, with the theme "Trace the Evolution of Modern Medicine, Enhance Hospital Management, and Empower High-Quality Medical Industry Development (回溯现代医学沿革,精细化医院管理,助力医产高质量发展)", was successfully held on March 29, 2025. The event featured an Academician Forum and over ten specialized sub-forums, attracting more than a thousand participants from all over the country.
Five academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered keynote speeches, focusing on medical science innovation, transformation of scientific achievements, and AI in healthcare. In his opening remarks, Academician Wang Jun, President of Peking University People's Hospital (PKUPH), emphasized that the year 2025 would mark the beginning of a new decade in the Coordinated Development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and the hospital would seize new opportunities and contribute prominently to this plan.
The forum also launched a campaign promoting "Voluntary Blood Donation and Scientific Blood Use". Experts jointly issued a proposal calling on society to improve awareness about blood donation and promote the knowledge of blood use, striving to build an efficient, safe, and sustainable blood supply system.
Another forum highlight was the signing ceremony of the "PKUPH–Hebei Hospitals Medical Alliance". This move will extend high-quality medical resources from the hospital to over 100 county-level hospitals in Hebei Province, ultimately enhancing the healthcare service capacity across the region.
