On September 9, the Peking University Hepatology Institute at Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) smoothly passed the fifth on-site review conducted by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). CAP certification is part of the Clinical Laboratory Quality Certification Program organized by the College of American Pathologists and is recognized worldwide as the "gold standard" for the medical device testing industry. The expert panel of this CAP on-site review included Professor Bob Baisden, Professor Sang Wu, and Professor Gloria Chen, all renowned members of the CAP International Committee.

During the on-site review stage, the inspectors meticulously examined the relevant testing items and biosafety of various professional groups according to CAP's checklist, from personnel management to quality requirements for all laboratory testing projects. The review process for each specialty proceeded smoothly and the Peking University Hepatology Institute successfully passed the audit.

Peking University Hepatology Institute initiated the CAP laboratory accreditation application process in July 2012 and officially obtained the CAP accreditation certificate in December 2013, becoming the first laboratory in the Peking University Health Science Center and the first liver disease testing center in the country to be certified by CAP. Passing the CAP on-site review for the fifth consecutive time is a full recognition of the laboratory management and its technical capabilities.
