Dr. Chen Hongsong has been engaged in research on liver disease immunology and is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases. He furthered his studies at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in the United States as a visiting scholar. He served as the Vice Director of Peking University Hepatology Institute because of his outstanding medical skills and management abilities. Dr. Chen has undertaken and completed over 20 national and provincial research projects. He published over 180 papers in Chinese and English and thus obtained multiple national invention patents. He and his colleagues' research on CT antigen peptide liver cancer vaccine obtained State Food and Drug Administration’s (SFDA) Phase I clinical trial approval in 2006 (Class I biological product for therapeutic use), marking a leap from basic research to clinical application. This vaccine was one of three tumor vaccines approved by SFDA for clinical trials in China at that time and was the only peptide tumor vaccine targeting specific antigens, providing valuable experience for future approval of similar vaccines by the government.
