Dr. Yang Fan has focused on minimally invasive thoracic surgery (MITS), clinical and basic research on comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, the evolution of early-stage lung cancer, molecular characteristics and immune microenvironment of ground-glass nodules (GGNs). He has conducted a series of pioneering studies from exploration to application on early-stage lung cancer, encompassing molecular mechanisms, precise monitoring of postoperative recurrence, and near-infrared fluorescence thoracoscopic surgery. Some of these studies were internationally groundbreaking. Dr. Yang has led numerous clinical trials and translational research projects and served as an author of the official documents on Lung Cancer Guidelines and Consensus of the China Anti-Cancer Association, Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, and in the Asia-Pacific region. He also pioneered the intraoperative application of fluorescence endoscopy in thoracic surgery to develop a domestic fluorescence endoscopy system. Besides, Dr. Yang has been the principal investigator for several national and provincial-level projects. He completed the National High-Tech Research & Development Program as the second primary investigator. Over the past five years, Dr. Yang has published over 90 papers in international journals such as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, European Respiratory Journal, Science Advances, and Clinical Cancer Research.
