Hematology | Peking University People’s Hospital Tongzhou Branch Successfully Completes Over a Hundred Cases of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplants in 70 Days

On August 1, 2023, the Peking University
Hematology Institute in Tongzhou branch of Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing hematopoietic stem
cell transplants for 116 patients in just over 70 days since its operation. An
academic sharing session on the subject was organized on the same day, with the
attendance of President Wang Jun and other prominent figures.
The Tongzhou branch of PKUPH commenced operations on December 18, 2021, marking a crucial milestone in healthcare expansion. The medical facility was set to provide comprehensive services starting February 7, 2022, offering a wide range of healthcare solutions to the public. This new branch is located in Huoxian Town, Tongzhou District, southeast of Beijing, in the hinterland of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The newly established facility is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring higher-efficiently-utilized healthcare resources, contributing to improved accessibility and quality healthcare for residents in both urban and surrounding areas.

the largest bone marrow transplant center in Asia, has been committed to
bringing new hope to more patients with blood diseases through devotion and
expertise. The Hematology Institute in Tongzhou
branch has served as a comprehensive hematological center with platforms for
diagnosis, treatment, and transformation. Patients have been provided with a
seamless "one-stop" service, from outpatient care to inpatient treatment.
As of the end of July, the Hematology Institute at Tongzhou branch had treated 175 patients, with 116 successful transplant cases. Notably, nearly three-quarters of these cases involved allogeneic transplants, showcasing the institutes expertise in advancing medical procedures.
