Hematology | Prof. Huang Xiaojun and Prof. Zhao Xiangyu’s Research Team Publishes New Research Results in Cellular & Molecular Immunology
2023-06-19
On June 9, 2023, Professor Huang Xiaojun and Professor Zhao Xiangyu’s research team from the Department of Hematology at Peking University People’s Hospital and Peking University Institute of Hematology published an article entitled, ”Expanded clinical-grade NK cells exhibit stronger effects than primary NK cells against HCMV infection” (IF: 22.096) in Cellular & Molecular Immunology.
This study for the first time found that expanded clinical-grade NK cells exhibit stronger effects against HCMV infection than primary cells and were validated in mouse models. In addition, clinical trials found that adoptive infusion of expanded NK cellspatients after HSCT could effectively prevent HCMV infection and promote HCMV clearance, improve the reconstruction of NK cells, and could optimize the clinical efficacy in combination with IL-2. This study provided a new idea for prevention and treatment of clinical HCMV infection.
Shang Qiannan, from the department of hematology at Peking University People’s Hospital, is the first author of the article. Professor Huang Xiaojun and Professor Zhao Xiangyu, from the department of hematology at Peking University People’s Hospital, are the corresponding authors.
