On July 8th, 2021, Peking University People's Hospital Qingdao, located in Chengyang District of Qingdao City, Shandong Province, officially opened its doors to the public.
LUAN Xin, vice mayor of Qingdao Municipal Government; BO Tao, director of the Qingdao Municipal Health Commission; XIE Hongjin, director of Chengyang District of Qingdao; LYU Yongcui, vice director of Chengyang District of Qingdao; JIANG Baoguo, president of Peking University People's Hospital and Peking University People's Hospital Qingdao; XING Quansheng, president of Qingdao Women and Childrens Hospital and executive president of Peking University People's Hospital Qingdao; and representatives of medical staff of Peking University People's Hospital Qingdao attended the ceremony to witness its inauguration.
Peking University People's Hospital Qingdao, based on the Chengyang Branch of Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital and the overall strength of Peking University People’s Hospital, is designed to be a regional medical center that will serve East China and even Northeast Asia. The hospital has a total land area of about 14.3 acres. The first phase of the hospital covers a total floor space of 82,000 square meters, with 500 beds. It has been completed and put to use. The facility offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs through its clinical and non-clinical departments including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatric Internal Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Stomatology, Otolaryngology Surgery, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dermatology, Clinical Laboratory, Radiology, etc. The second phase of construction would add another 700 beds. It is scheduled to start construction this year.
The inauguration of Peking University People’s Hospital Qingdao marked a milestone in the cooperation between Peking University People’s Hospital and Qingdao Municipality. The two sides will work together to lead a new trend and build a new pattern of health industry system by exploring quality development of public hospitals.
