Peking University Arthritis Clinic and Research Center (ACRC) was founded in 1990. It is the first institution in China that conducted diagnosis, treatment and research towards joint disease, and the first clinic center which performed artificial joint arthroplasty and minimally invasive arthroscopy surgery in the country.
We offer high-quality care and services to the patients with various musculoskeletal problems around joints. Every year, our clinical staffs take care of a high volume of patients. Our surgeons treat the following conditions, such as arthritis and sports injury, and manage complex cases, such as hip and knee joint replacements. The Arthroplasty Service specializes in innovative reconstructive surgery for patients with arthritic hips and knees and other joint disorders. We also act as a referral resource center for disorders considered unusual. The Sports Medicine service specializes in ACLPCL reconstruction, meniscus repair, shoulder, hips and ankle arthroscopy.Annually, we performed approximately 2000 arthroplasty and 1000 arthroscopic surgery.
Recently, we put more efforts on prevention, treatment and research of early-stage arthropathy. According to different stages and severity of patients condition, we carried out service on individualized treatment including, exercise rehabilitation, conventional conservative treatment and surgical treatment.
Through efforts and the contribution towards progress on joint diseases, our institution has successively been awarded “National Key Disciplines”, "The Ministry of Education Progress Award” as well as “The Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Award”. Dr. Lin Jianhao, the chief of Peking University Arthritis Clinic and Research Center, has been prized as the leading experts in management and research on ten major diseases by Beijing Science Committee (Spine and Joint Disease field).
Meanwhile, we dedicated our efforts on continuous medical education (CME) on diagnosis and treatment technology on joint disease. Since 1990, we have conducted CME courses on artificial joint arthroplasty annually. And thousands of surgeons in our field has studied and communicated in our department.
