Plastic Surgery
Overview
Established in 2008, the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Peking University People's Hospital comprises faculty members graduating from Peking University Health Science Center and Peking Union Medical College. Equipped with independent outpatient and inpatient facilities, the department is designated as a training institution for chief surgeons by the Beijing Cosmetic Surgery Association. Combining reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, the department emphasizes technical excellence, refined aesthetics, personalized and precise treatment, and quality service.
Our Team:
Under the leadership of Director Li Guangxue, the department thrives with a robust team of 1 chief surgeon, 2 associate surgeons, and 5 attending surgeons, all renowned for their expertise and dedication.
Clinical Services
Plastic Surgery Specialty: The department excels in complex reconstructions, including massive tumor resection wound management, various flap transfers, immediate/delayed breast reconstruction post-mastectomy, and prevention/treatment of neuroma and phantom limb pain after amputation.
Aesthetic Surgery Specialty: With extensive clinical experience, the department offers procedures such as liposuction for body contouring, autologous fat grafting for facial rejuvenation and breast augmentation, facial and eyelid aesthetic surgeries, minimally invasive facial procedures, breast lift and reduction, gynecomastia correction, prosthetic breast augmentation, injection-based treatments, laser therapies, comprehensive management of scar, and cosmetic repair of cutaneous tumors. Consistently achieving patient satisfaction through meticulous outcomes.
By integrating reconstructive and aesthetic services, the department streamlines surgical timelines for general hospital patients, avoids the need for secondary surgeries and reduces both hospitalization time and costs. Through the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment (MDT) model, it addresses postoperative wound coverage, functional reconstruction, and chronic pain management (e.g., phantom limb pain), enhancing patients' postoperative quality of life.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: The department utilizes advanced medical technologies, including the Dufner endoscopic system, Carl Zeiss microsurgical systems, and Yan Shan liposuction equipment.
