Department of Radiation Oncology

Peking University People's Hospital,  the Department of Radiation Oncology was founded in 1988.At the beginning of the twenty-first century, Radiation Oncology Department carried out three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, opened a new era of tumor accurate radiotherapy. With the hospital's support and the staff's unremitting efforts, the Department of Radiation Oncology now has a world-class hardware equipment and rich experience in treatment, and become a major unit of Peking University Cancer radiotherapy unit, for its commitment to teaching, training and research tasks. Under the leadership of Director Chen Yalin, the department has a professional team composed of 22 medical staffs, including 3 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians (all with a graduate degree above), 4 medical physicists , 2 nurses , 11 technicians.

• Varian Turebeam: At present, radiotherapy company has the advanced linear accelerator Varian Turebeam produced by the United States Varian company, its high dose rate, automatic integrated imaging system and RPM breathing gating system, so that it has a short treatment time, real-time monitoring of the tumor and achieve accurate radiotherapy features.
• Eclipse treatment planning system
• Philips 16 rows of large aperture spiral CT simulation positioning machine
• Micro-selection 18 channel after-loading treatment machine

Department Features

Ø The Department of Radiation Oncology has carried out a comprehensive multidisciplinary tumor treatment. With the Peking University People's Hospital Institute of Hematology, Gynecological Tumor Center, Respiratory Department, Thoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery and other departments as the solid foundation, the Department of Radiation Oncology has a wealth of treatment experience in the treatment of leukemia, lung cancer, gynecological tumors, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lymphoma, soft tissue tumors, gliomas, head and neck tumors, heterotopic ossification, pituitary tumors and other benign disease treatment.
