Department of Urology
In the 1940s, our urology service was first directed by Dr. Xie Yuanfu, the founder of urology in China. Other well-known experts in urology at the time i.e. member of the Chinese Academy of Science Dr. Wu Jieping and Professor Meng Guangdong also worked at the service. In 1978, the Urology Department was established as an independent division. Dr. Meng Guangdong, Dr. Hou Shukun, Dr. Zhu Jichuan and Wang Xiaofeng served as the directors of the Department in succession. At present, there are 5 Doctoral Supervisors, 3 Master Supervisors, over 80 hospital beds and more than 50 physicians and staff members in our Urology Department. The Department receives over 55,000 outpatient visits and performs over 2,300 surgeries annually.
