Education

Under the leadership of Prof. Yulan Liu, we made a comprehensive evaluation plan to train young physicians to accomplish the teaching work successfully. Young teachers are encouraged to participate in bilingual teaching competitions in order to strengthen their teaching as well as improve their teaching skills. And so far, we have achieved very good results in these competitions of Beiing City, Health and Science Center and Peking University People's hospital. Moreover, in order to improve teaching quality, we also actively involved in teaching reform and teaching material editing.  Every year, about 10 students are admitted to the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in our department. Apart from the full-time programs, more than 20 physicians from around the country are selected to our residency programs or continuing medical education programs to keep abreast with change and innovation in medical services.

Others

In order to keep abreast with change and innovation in GI medical services, many young physicians were sent abroad for further training every year. Additionally, world renowned experts were invited to give lectures and hands-on guidance. Every year our physicians present oral and poster presentations at international and domestic annual meetings, such as American Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and European annual digestive disease week (UEGW). We have held "Immune-Mediated Digestive Diseases Forum" and "Intestinal Mucosa Barrier and Related Diseases Forum" for eight years which highlight frontier subjects in the gastroenterology and hepatology field. These two forums have successfully attracted a lot of GI experts and have improved our academic status significantly.
